We update our adoption page frequently, so check back if you don’t see the right dog for you below. Note: We only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
- While weekend dog adoption fairs are being held, applicants are asked to complete a Meet-your-match form in advance and to arrive at a scheduled time to meet the dog(s) they are interested in;
- In-person home visits generally will not be performed. In some cases, a video home visit may be done;
- Applications will be processed and approved via email and/or telephone;
- An appointment will be made to pick up a dog to begin trial placement;
- During the meet-and-greet appointment, masks must be worn and social distancing must be maintained;
- We will finalize adoption contracts after the trial period.
