Thank you Lilly for agreeing to foster Roxanne! Update: She has been adopted!

ROXANNE is a tiny girl weighing only about 6 1/2 pounds. She is a sweet, quiet girl. She loves to be petted and relax in a nice peaceful environment. When given the chance, she likes sitting in a windowsill looking outside. Its hard to tell how playful she might be because the whole time she has been in our care she has been busy nursing 7 kittens.

Hard to believe she is single handedly responsible for saving the lives of four tiny orphaned kittens while caring for her own 3 kittens. We call her Roxanne the Rock Star!  (Of course, her foster family gets a ton of credit for nurturing this family too – supplementing their feeding with kitten milk via syringe around the clock).

Roxanne came into our care from a shelter. She arrived at the shelter with her three kittens, about 3 weeks old, weighing only 5 1/2 pounds – very underweight. As she sat patiently in the shelter waiting to see what would come next – tiny orphaned kittens kept rolling in. In total, 5 orphaned kittens from 3 different litters arrived as young as 8 days to 2 weeks old. Because she was a nursing mom, the shelter was hoping she would accept the kittens and treat them as her own. Kittens this tiny found outside, possibly compromised without nourishment, really need a surrogate mom to nurse and nurture them. Roxanne didn’t bat an eye! One of the 8 kittens passed away from a congenital defect, the other other 7 kittens are thriving.
Please help us give Roxanne a turn at having a good peaceful life of her own.
