Thank you Renee for fostering Daisy Scout. Update: She has been adopted!
DAISY SCOUT (nicknamed Mama Bear) is the epitome of a sweet, beautiful, well-mannered, loving cat! This petite girl will amaze you with her sweet, initially a tab bit shy, demeanor. But it doesn’t take her long to let you know that all she wants is a peaceful, loving home to call her own.
Daisy Scout was rescued from the side of a road where she and her newborn babies had been thrown out of a moving car. The babies were newborns – their umbilical cords still attached. Hard to believe someone would be so cruel. Daisy and 4 kittens were not hurt, but one of the newborn kittens died. Two other cats were tossed out of the car along with Daisy Scout and her babies – probably the father and an older kitten from a previous litter. A kind woman, who witnessed the traumatic event, took all of the kitties into her care until Daisy Scout and her kittens could be transferred to our care.
We need a new foster home for Daisy Scout where she can be separated from her kittens to prevent them from nursing. This will enable her milk to dry up so she can be spayed and we can give her appropriate vaccinations. Once her vetting is complete, she will be ready for adoption in early to mid December.
She needs a relatively quiet foster home where she can settle in and give us a chance to get to know her personality and needs without her kittens demanding her attention. She will likely do well in any loving home that’s not too active. We don’t know if she would be happy with another feline companion but she would probably do just fine as an only kitty if people are around to give her lots of love. This sweet girl has been through trauma but doesn’t show any ill affects of what she went through.
