SMOKEY (grey, medium-haired) is a mama’s girl. She likes to be talked to and have her tummy gently rubbed. She also likes to suckle on her bed and purrs like she is nursing. This gives her comfort. Smokey needs to be adopted along with a compatible SPCA kitten, if we have one, or into a home with a sweet, low-key female cat.

Smokey likes to play and cuddle with her sisters, Bootsie and Bandit, and the other kitten, Leo, in her foster home. She is not as rambunctious as they are and is a bit more timid. She sometimes pulls back and observes their playful kitten antics – other times she jumps in and plays with them.

Smokey needs a quiet home with a loving caretaker who will help build her confidence. Pairing her up with the right kitty will be important. Smokey needs a home without dogs or young children now or in the future. An older, gentle child would be fine.

Smokey came into our care with her sisters, Bootsie and Bandit, and a kitten from another litter, Leo. She was rescued from outdoors by their foster mom who went searching for them after rescuing other kittens in the same neighborhood last year.

PLEASE NOTE: We ONLY adopt to residents of the Washington metropolitan area, which includes Washington, D.C. and parts of Northern Virginia and Maryland.
