Description:Ripple's Personality
Ripple is an adorable polydactyl kitty with big front paws and extra toes. She is very friendly and extremely high energy. She has a huge personality and is endlessly entertaining. She was named after the song Ripple by the Grateful Dead (the song was playing while her foster mom was trying to think of a name for her).
Ripple is very friendly and likes to greet you. She runs to you wanting to be petted or picked up and kissed. Then she's ready to get down and play! Ripple can get a little sassy if you pick her up and try to restrain her – she has a mind of her own and likes to do things her way! Ripple is also a snuggler when she is sleepy and needs to sleep in her caretaker's bed at night. Ripple also often naps or sleeps next to you or in your lap.
Ripple can entertain herself for hours – playing with her foster family or batting toys around. She can become a little playfully aggressive if you touch her when she is in play mode. She is not being purposely aggressive, but thinks your hand or arm is a toy. This is a common with kittens who are not provided with proper socialization with other kittens or another cat early in life. Ripple's foster family has been socializing her with their cats and she is doing great learning to play with them.
What Type of Home Ripple Needs
Ripple needs a home with experienced cat caretakers. A home with adults is probably best or a cat savvy older child may be fine. Her caretakers need to have experience with cats and understand how to redirect her playful, and sometimes sassy, behavior. Ripple needs a confident adult cat buddy in her forever home who will not shy away from her playfulness.
Where Ripple Came From
Ripple was born in her caretaker's home along with three siblings. The family found homes for the mom and three kittens but were unable to find a home for the remaining kitten, Ripple. So they asked SPCA for help.
