Needs feline companion: YesDescription:
ORION is an adorable gentle soul who loves to sit or snuggle with his foster family and observe or play gently with another kitten. Until recently, Orion was fostered with his sisters, Aurora and Luna (adopted). We moved another kitten, Cinnamon (posted separately), into Orion's foster home so he would have a buddy after his sisters were adopted. Orion and Cinnamon play together, but Cinnamon has more energy than Orion can keep up with. Orion loves to play when prompted, but needs a lower energy teenage kitten, or an older kitty to keep him company and engage him in gentle play. Orion likes the company of other cats and wants to snuggle with them.
This amazing little guy has a neurological condition (explained below). This doesn't stop him though from being a happy, and lower energy but playful, kitten. Orion's foster family adores him as much as he loves them back. He is slower in his movements than other kittens his age – he walks with a cautious gait which is sometimes a little off balance, and he sometimes pauses to think before acting on something. Orion walks around and plays when he wants to but is also happy to snuggle with you or observe what's going on around him. Orion is otherwise a very healthy, happy boy who is growing just like any other kitten his age.
Orion is the only kitten in the litter that has a neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). This can be caused when a pregnant cat gets a distemper vaccination or has panleukopenia. This condition will not worsen over time. Cats do amazingly well when the condition is not severe because they learn how to compensate overtime. Orion has no idea he's different than other kittens and is usually found right in the thick of things with another kitten or his foster family. He has stolen the hearts of his foster family and will steal your heart too.
Orion needs a quiet home with an experienced cat caretaker whose home life isn't expected to change a lot over time.
His ideal home:
–will not have frequent moves
–is with an older person or couple, or family with an older cat-savvy child
–doesn't or won't have dogs or babies or young kids down the road
–doesn't have stairs that Orion would have to navigate going up and down
–has carpeting so Orion can grip the carpeting when he walks, although hardwood floors with lots of rugs would be ok.
Orion is the sweetest, cutest little guy. He has known nothing but love and just needs the right home environment and a loving family who can meet his needs.
