Needs feline companion: Yes

MERCUTIO is a small, perky, friendly, and talkative gray tabby with lots of energy for playing. He adapts to changes right away and settles easily into a new environment. We learned quickly that Mercutio (grey tabby) is a bit too rambunctious as a single kitty. So we moved him into a new foster home with Harley (black/white). These boys became instant buddies (see photo). We would like Mercutio and Harley to be adopted as a pair.

Mercutio needs a moderately active home with room to play and where he gets quality people interaction. He has been enjoying a foster home with older kids who want to play with him. He is learning not to playfully nip at your hands when playing or handling him – a sure sign that he must have a feline buddy to wrestle and use up some of his energy. Mercutio enjoys spending much of his day climbing to be up high where he can enjoy watching the birds and squirrels outdoors through a window.

Mercutio was a stray kitty who showed up on someone's door step crying in distress. He may have followed this family's indoor/outdoor cat home. Mercuito was very hungry and once he was fed he didn't go far from this home – a sure sign he was either lost or abandoned. Now in our care, Mercutio is ready for a home to call his own.

PLEASE NOTE: We ONLY adopt to residents of the Washington metropolitan area, which includes Washington, D.C. and parts of Northern Virginia and Maryland.
