Needs feline companion: NoDescription:
LEROY is a handsome, long and lean classic brown tabby. He is the sweetest cat – ever. Leroy is a very sensitive kitty who is a tad bit shy at first but warms up to new people in a few days. He loves being petted and sometimes meows for attention. Leroy doesn't like other cats and needs to be the only kitty in your home.
Leroy loves to climb to the top of cat trees to sit up high. He enjoys looking outdoors in front of windows. Leroy is a pretty calm kitty who is moderately playful. While he's not overly rambunctious he does need interactive play with people 2-3 times per day. He especially likes playing with a string on a wand toy.
Once Leroy is comfortable in his surroundings, he likes to explore and follow you around the house. When you are hanging out watching TV, reading or working on a computer he needs to be in the same room with you. When he's tired, Leroy likes to sit next to you for a nap or sometimes sits in your lap if you pick him up and put him there. He needs caretakers that are ok with letting him sleep in your bedroom at night if he chooses to. He doesn't like being shut out of rooms. He also gets great comfort by kneading on a soft blanket.
Leroy needs a quieter to moderately active home with more than one person. Even if a single person worked from home, that person wouldn't be home 24/7. His ideal home is a family with one or two older kids. A home with a couple might be ok, but only if they are home a lot long term and there wouldn't be babies or young children down the road. Leroy doesn't need constant attention but he likes to be around people and not left one for hours.
Leroy came into our care from another rescue organization where he lived in a cattery. He came into their care along with his mom and 5 siblings (all adopted). Leroy was adopted out with one of his sisters but returned because he was picking on his sister. Thus, the conclusion that he needs to be an only cat. He didn't do well in a cattery situation, so we agreed to take him in where he could be in a foster home without other cats until he is adopted.
