Bishop's Personality

Bishop is a handsome marble brown tabby with big, bold swirls…almost like a Van Gogh painting. He is a sweet, well-behaved and friendly boy who likes to chat with you. Bishop settles into a new home pretty quickly. He likes to explore his surroundings and greet people around him.

Bishop loves to be around people and gladly snuggles in any lap offered to him, especially if you scratch his neck. He likes to have his beautiful swirly coat stroked. Bishop likes to hang out with you and follow you around your home, but doesn't need constant attention. He's respectful if you are busy working on your computer…he just wants to  hang out with you. When Bishop arrived in our care, he didn't seem to know how to play with toys but is learning how much fun toys can be. He gets occasional late night zoomies, but has a pretty low-key level of energy.

What Type of Home Bishop Needs

Bishop will do well in a variety of different types of homes. He will probably do best in a quieter to moderately active home. We haven't seen Bishop interact with other cats but he would probably do fine with another friendly like-minded cat. Most young male cats do best with another male cat to bond and play with. He could be the only cat in your home if people are around to keep him company…working from home would be good. He would probably do fine with a friendly, low-key dog. Very young children wouldn't be good for him as he's settling into a new home but kids down the road, or older kids, would be just fine.

Where Bishop Came From

Bishop was a stray cat who was found literally starving to death. A couple of different people spotted him outside in their neighborhood and started feeding him. When he came into SPCA's care, he was malnourished and dehydrated. Bishop only weighed about 6 1/2 pounds and after only a month in our care he easily gained 4 pounds. He's a young cat who is still growing and has become a very healthy, happy boy.
