Bear is the perfect name for this big handsome boy. He has grown into such a loving cat in the short time he has been in our care. All he wants to do is love and be loved. Bear adores being petted, nudging your hand for more petting, and being scratched under his chin. After a few days of adjusting, Bear has become his "own man" and claimed his foster home as "all mine."
Bear likes to sit by the window near a bird feeder and watch the birds fly in and out all day. His foster mom says he's a "bird bum" (rather than a "beach bum")! Bear LOVES toys, chasing the catnip balls all over the house. At night he either sleeps on a blanket on the couch or his foster mom's bed. He doesn't typically stay in one place at night, because he starts hearing his toys calling…and must answer the call! Day or night, in between naps, window watching, or snuggling with his foster mom, he plays with his toys!
Bear adapted very well in his foster home and foster mom after about a week. He will be a little timid when meeting new people, but rest assured, he loves nothing more than being loved and really wants a home to call his own. With just a little patience, Bear's confidence will keep growing.
What Type of Home Bear Needs
Bear needs a quieter home where his caretaker will give him a little time to adapt. He will do best in an adult-only home although a cat savvy older child would be fine. Bear also needs to be the only pet – NO CATS or dogs. He was in a home with other cats and wasn't too nice to them because he wanted all of the human attention for himself!
Where Bear Came From
Bear was born inside the home of a wonderful couple who feed feral cats outdoors in their well maintained backyard…complete with kitty condos and plenty of food. His mom cat was brought inside while pregnant where Bear was born. With a few other cats in this home, Bear wasn't happy with competition from other cats. So we agreed to rehome him where we knew he would be a happier kitty.
