Super Pet Expo--April 4-6, 2003 Once again, the SPCA of Northern Virginia participated in Super Pet Expo, held at the Dulles Expo Center. On Saturday, several of our dogs joined us, and were featured in the Parade of Adoptables preceding the Great American Mutt Show. Then they returned as contestants in GAMS competitions for Most Unique Mix and Best Jumper. While none of our dogs were winners (except in our hearts!), Smoke the black lab mix made it to the Jumper finals...and he'd never jumped before! Check out his photo below. On Sunday, author Kay Pfaltz signed copies of her book Lauren's Story: An American Dog in Paris at the SPCA booth. Our booth also featured a Guess-The-Number-Of-Dog-Biscuits contest, with prizes furnished by Weber's Pet Supermarket and Fur-Get Me Not Pet Care. First prize went to Casper Andrews (photo below) of Reston, with second prize to 11 year old Jamie Terrebonne of Sterling, and third to Jill Elswick of Vienna. Congratulations to all of you! Thanks to all who stopped by our booth to say hello, and also to all our dedicated volunteers who helped out at this event. |
